FAQs
What is a zine?A zine is traditionally a self-published piece of paper media. A FanZine is a zine put together about a particular piece of established media, sometimes by a single person and other times by a group. What is this zine about? On Call: A BNHA First Responders Zine, will be a SFW non-profit digital zine featuring BNHA characters in various first responder roles: firefighters, paramedics, and police officers. All participants must be 18+ to contribute to this project as a NSFW PDF add-on can be opted into, called Behind Bars. Digital and physical merch will also be included. What this zine is not about:This zine is not meant to support or endorse any political viewpoints. Any hate-filled behavior exhibited by contributors will be dealt with by being removed from the zine. This is purely about fictional first responders and no IRL political discussion will be tolerated within the server. We are not here to debate moral high grounds of any kind. We are here to make a fun project that promotes all persons in uniform. How do first responders come into play?Works created for On Call should focus on BNHA characters being involved in emergency services in some way. We welcome the characters in the roles of first responders or being aided by first responders.
The NSFW add-on, Behind Bars, will be more relaxed. It can focus less on emergency services and more on relationships, as long as they are still mentioned in some capacity. Will this be a digital or physical product?Based on interest check results, this will be a digital zine with both physical and digital merch and a digital, NSFW pdf add-on.What are the specs? The size of the zine will be A4 (210mm x 297mm).
We are planning to take a total of 10 writers, 26 page artists, and 4 merch artists, including guests.Where will the profits of the zine go?All profits will go wildfire relief. The exact charity will be determined at a later date depending on where the relief is needed in the world. If, at the time of donation, there are no active wildfires, the profits will go to the American Red Cross. Will there be romance, or gen. only? NSFW? Ships? The main zineβs content should be focused on the BNHA characters and first responders. All works should err on the side of gen, but implied ships are okay.
There will be a NSFW add-on and it can, of course, be ship-centered!How old must I be to participate? All contributors must be 18 or older at the time of their application. Should a contributor apply and/or be accepted and it is found out they lied about their age, they will be removed from the project and will not receive a digital copy of the zine. How many contributors will you be accepting? There will be a maximum of 40 contributors that can be accepted, including guests, with the breakdown being as follows:
11 Writers : 3 Guests
21 Page Artists : 3 Guests
4 Merchandise Artists : 0 Guest
There are a total of 29 spots open to applicants. How will contributors be compensated? As this is a non-profit zine, each contributor will receive a free copy of the digital version of each zine, along with all digital merch.
Depending on sales, contributors may potentially have the opportunity to receive additional free physical merch or purchase a physical bundle at a reduced rate.
